It’s finally here. For those of us who watch TV, the hours of meaningless entertainment are over. As usual, for their confidence in their power to achieve the impossible, the candidates are full of it.
I hope you’ve been keeping track of their impossible promises. Let’s check for truth in advertising, no matter who gets elected. Let’s hold their feet to the fire, say, one year from now. I anticipate failure. Care to bet?
Let’s take just one issue. For as long as I remember, ALL politicians have promised to end corruption. Yet there is still corruption. Right?
This year, let’s take just two candidates: the gubernatorials. Diane Denish said, “We will have a NO TOLERANCE policy for any kind of corruption in a Diane Denish administration.” Susana Martinez said, “I’m the only candidate that’s taken on corruption, and that’s the difference. I’ll end it…”
Okay? There you have it. In one year (being entirely generous), I would think to see no corruption in state government. Here’s a nickel.
Anytime I’m feeling blue, I just stop holding my breath.
¿k?
