First and foremost

1st Amendment for All!

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Five freedoms, one bill. Great deal, ¿qué no?

This means you!

But don’t forget to tip the waiter. Folks may neglect, simply, to chill out. (Does this mean, you? Me?)

For the 1st Amendment to work, we must agree to disagree. The operative word is, peaceably.

That’s why I don’t tend to speak politics or religion when we assemble to celebrate the 4th of July in response to an invitation I’ve published to my friends petitioning their attendance.

Three cheers for the Fourth of July! But, of course, there are 9 other Amendments in the Bill of Rights. And the day that counts is, December 15, 1791. On that date, the Bill of Rights came into effect.

Aieee!—1st, 3, 4th, 5, 9, 10, 15th, 1776, 1791, 2010—who’s keeping count? One for all, and all for one.

It means a great deal!

Free!

Let freedom ring! (And pass me a cold one.)

¿k?
